jess & joni | wed

On New Year's Eve, surrounded by friends and family,  the lovely Jess & Joni rang in the new year as official newlyweds.
I can think of no better way for Jess & Joni to embark on this new and exciting journey together, than to begin this adventure on such a meaningful day.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Jess for twelve years. She is such a warm, caring, and vivacious person who has an incredible ability to make everyone smile. When I met Joni over Thanksgiving weekend {the same weekend she and Joni got engaged!}, there was no denying that Jess had found her match. Like Jess, Joni is so kind, so compassionate, and just an overall genuine human being.

After what has been a tough couple of years for both of them, Jess and Joni could not be more deserving of each other's love and friendship. Their union symbolizes not only a commitment to one another, but a coming together of two wonderful families. Jess & Joni's special day paid homage to this in such a unique and beautiful way, where Joni's family and friends in Ireland that were unable to attend shared in the celebration via Skype! In fact, guests were able to ring in the New Year twice via webcam in two different time zones. All of this was so befitting-- two people, two families, two sons, two countries, who came together as one to celebrate this profound union.

Jess' son Jaxon and Joni's son Toby made their way down the isle, followed by a glowing Jess and her proud father. There were laughs and tears of joy. Rings were exchanged {with some extra effort on Jess' behalf ;)}. Love and joy filled the church, and so too, did the sound of Joni and his sensational band.

After the vows, family and friends gathered to celebrate. This beautiful wedding was such a cumulative effort on behalf of both families and their wonderful friends. The personal and thoughtful details are what made Jess & Joni's wedding so incredibly special and I know just how much this meant to them.

Towards the end of the night, Joni performed a beautiful, handwritten song that he wrote for Jess, his new wife, and I can honestly say that I don't think there was a dry eye in the house!

Congratulations to you both. You deserve every happiness in the world.
